Days 52 to 54 - ALL DONE!!!

Yes it is true - they have finished the renovation and we are busy moving back in....

The heat wave in Ontario prevented the floors from finishing fast so the crew had to wait to finish there work. It was worth the wait because now we are happy with the finish on the floors!! Here is one picture sowing you the floors plus the baseboard that they installed early in the week.

They took a bit of rejigging to get our cable TV wire tucked away in the fireplace surround, but they did a great job. All the baseboard trim, our door trim and doors all arrived early in the week. Here are before and after photos.

They also finally applied all our kitchen handles - yay! Eric took a really long time choosing them - and I am glad he really likes them because I do too!

They had to add more supports to the back step landing because the overhang was too long and the trim piece became loose. Here is the new back step - sure is pretty!

Next they started on the back splash - here is one picture with it about a third applied and no grout.

This is just a  close up so you can see the granite and the back splash and how they go together so nicely. Thanks to everyone for the encouragement to go ahead with the granite - we love it!

We weren't sure the contractors would finish in time for the weekend, but when we came home on the Friday - VOILA - they had finished it all.... so exciting!!! The rest are just pictures of the finished kitchen. No words necessary. Sorry for the long wait for those of you wanting to see... but we were super busy this weekend and I am just getting to my post now. We continue to work every day to get all the food and dishes put back away - it sure is fun with so many places to put things now.

I'll probably post one last time in a few weeks once we've gotten everything put back together. Bye for a bit!
